How articles are written

We use AI writing tools to help research and draft some of our articles. An editor reviews every new article before it is published: checking that the advice is accurate and current, removing anything that repeats what we have already published, and adding examples where they help.

Fewer, better articles

In September 2026 we reviewed the whole site. We removed or merged more than 80% of our articles, including pages that covered the same topic as another article, pages that were out of date, and pages that did not add enough to be worth keeping. Where two articles answered the same question, we kept the stronger one and redirected the other to it. We now publish a small number of articles and update existing ones instead of writing new versions of them.

Statistics and sources

Our statistics pages link to the source of each figure where one is available. Industry figures change quickly and are often measured differently from one study to the next, so treat them as a guide and check the original source before relying on a number.
